Hi Hector, I've cleaned up the Unapplied Cash Payment Income report for the most part. What remains is a pair of transactions with the same date: "Payment" (overpayment by customer) and "Check" (refund check issued by the business); the payment is applied to the check. Why are they still showing on the report, and how can I clean them up? Thank you in advance for your expertise.

Why does all Versions of QuickBooks Desktop and QuickBooks Online not have USER CUSTOMS FIELDS? Why is it that only QBO has User Customs Fields, 10 of them i believe?

Hi Hector, firstly would like to thank you for your informative post. In South Africa we make use of the UK version of Quickbooks. As from the end of this month we will not have login access to Premier 2020. We bought our software in 2020 with a licence, so there is no monthly subscription. Product Information Window (Ctrl+1) is showing that the license is active, but we don't get the pop up with Ctrl+B+Q, we also tried from in the desktop, clicking "Company" and selected "Export Company File to Quickbooks Online", we then get a pop up: Intuit - For security, Intuit does not support this browser or browser version. We have both Google Chrome and Microsoft Edge latest updates installed. Setting on Edge to allow Internet Explorer. What will the next step be?

Another QB user updated the Convention for our Fixed Asset Items in the QB FAM, but I can't see those changes when I log in with my ID. Shouldn't I be able to see those updates? is there a sync that needs to happen somewhere? Convention was updated to full month for all Book items but they show as Half Year when I log in.

Hector, I have qb Enterprise 24.0 and my sales order fulfillment worksheet does not look like yours. It doesn't have a dashboard...Any idea why?

Where we are moving the retainage at the end of the year if the customer comes under insolvency, is the retainage moved to the PL by journal: Debit Bad Debt and Credit Retainage?

Great video. If an operating/subsidiary LLC is owned by a holding company LLC, then would you have to purchase and create two separate QuickBooks Online accounts for the accounting of the respective companies? or could you purchase and use only one QuickBooks Online account for the accounting of both companies?

This comment is directed more towards Avalara than Hector Garcia but Hector needs to know when he highlights a software vendor and the vendor fails to produce results. I paid for AvaTax software over a month ago and have yet to use it because I cannot get any applicable support from Avalara. My Avalara sales person still answers my calls and emails but she has been unable to connect me to someone who can assist me in using the software with QuickBooks Desktop. Very disappointing.

Hector you are amazing Ty. I have been using QBD since it came out and have mastered a daily routine system. I just migrated to QBO and much the same just finding it and how to. Hello, I wish this would address more issues that I see with Cash basis and accrual basis accounting. My clients invoice and the sales tax is calculated automatically in quickbooks at the time of invoicing. However, they are cash basis and technically that quantity of sales tax should be calculated as if the time of cash receipt. What is best practice in this case where you still want to invoice the customer beforehand, yet maintain accurate sales taxes which should be calculated at receipt of cash. Please help if possible. I am worried about sales tax rate accuracy to protect clients from potential audits.

How do you handle an item receipt of 20K without a bill that posted in February and the bill comes in April for 13K? I'm having issues making the adjustment in April and February is closed?

Hector - At 1:06 you show the Project Est vs. Actuals report; however, you didn't demonstrate how to drill into the total cost detail of the cost code (service item). Even though QBO makes it look like you can click on the total of the cost code to drill into the transaction detail, you cannot. This should be highlighted in BOLD for all accountant considering moving their QBD construction clients to QBO. I was excited to have the Project Bud vs. Act report only to find out I couldn't get back to the original budget or the actual transaction cost code detail from any of these project reports. The Intuit rep kept telling me to go back to the P&L to drill through the G/L detail. Clearly, she's not understanding the need for accountants to drill into the cost by cost code and not by G/L. What good is a report that shows over or under budget when I cannot access the details to find out why? Can you shed any light on this glaring issue? Thanks for your content as always!!!

I would like to use the template for the IIF import for timesheets. I noticed that your headers have a difference version than what I am using. Do I need to make changes to the headers for Enterprise and the version I am using?

We have a Cash account in a currency different from our home currency. We are cleaning that cash account. We transferred the leftover functional currency balance to an expense account. At the functional currency level, the account is cleaned, but there is a variance of less than 2 dollars on the Home Currency level. I believe that is due to exchange rate variance. I tried editing the exchange rate, but that too is not working. I am not sure how to clean that from balance sheet. Please advise

I use quickbooks desktop pro 2021 but only use it to enter deposits and checks issued. I use it for 4 companies. What happens if I do not upgrade to the yearly subscription? Will my system stop working?

Hello Hector, can you also make a video about clearing undeposited funds? There are square deposits that are still sitting on my undeposited funds but reconciled in the bank register already. I think there are duplicate deposits happen or the deposit from the banking screen was added and not matched to the sales receipt recorded in QuickBooks. Can you help me fix it? or can you make a tutorial video about it? That would be awesome if you do. Thank you !

"Independent contractors are encouraged to obtain and use an EIN for their business operations. This provides an additional layer of privacy and helps to differentiate personal and business finances. Using an EIN can also help to confirm your status as an independent contractor rather than an employee. It is recommended to use an EIN instead of your SSN to protect your personal information and reduce the risk of identity theft." I'm curious if this advice only applies to my area. I ask because in the video, you mentioned that they only use Social Security Numbers. (?) Thank you in advance for any assistance in clarifying this.
